Some days we feel shame. Shame takes. It takes our heart and makes it beat with regret. Our mind spins out of control and we are unable to harness it. Our body feels the repercussions as we ache and pain from the inside out. Shame takes.
As I was going through some soul-searching this morning, I came across this prayer from Breathing Eden: Conversations with God on Light, Fresh Air, and New Things. Jesus gives. It's plain to see. Shame disintegrates and we no longer need to hide.
"Father, you are unashamed of me; your love is wild and perfect. I love how you have made me. I love how I don’t have to hide from you, no matter what I am feeling. You give me a voice to call out to you, and you answer. You reveal yourself to me, showing how you are present with me, how you care for me, how you hold me and never let me go. I have what it takes to love those you’ve given me to love. I have what it takes to give through this day, holding your hand. Help me do all these things, knowing I stay with you. In your name, Jesus, Amen."
You are the Daughter of the King Continue to remind yourself of this. Shame is not a robe we want to wear. Our pastor says the world makes your feel shame on you, the Gospel is 'shame off you'.
