weal \WEEL\ noun
: a sound, healthy, or prosperous state : well-being
The ultimate goal in my career is to guide each coaching client to their weal. Jeremiah 29:11 states, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Since I believe that the Bible is inspired by God and is therefore, truth, then that statement means that everyone has hope. That everyone has a future. That everyone has an opportunity for their weal.
I’ve met so many unique and interesting people in my life. The one thing they all had in common was a desire of their heart. They seek me out, looking for someone to guide them to reach their goals, their desires. But when I ask what they really want and we dig deep, they discover that a sound mind trumps all. Time after time.
This can look different to each person. A sound mind can result from having their finances in order; releasing the need for perfection in their art; finding ways to love themselves, so they can unselfishly love others; learning how to pursue their faith and embrace inner peace; forgiving unconditionally; replacing stress with quietude; and so much more.
There is a quiet surprise when this discovery happens. Their desires have roots.
So many sessions have started out with aspiration for the pursuit of success and the key to that somewhat elusive, American dream. But what happens after we dig into *The Discovery Process, is the knowledge that what is really desired, is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. From themselves to others and from others to themselves.
The pursuit, discovery and implementation of these nine things in life bring true success. I’m praying and hoping for you to find these treasures. They are right there in front of you for the taking, ready to bear fruit.
Creatively His, Sue:)
